Meet Hsin-Yi Yang one of our Healthwatch Croydon Volunteers

Find out more about our volunteer Hsin-Yi Yang, her motivations for volunteering with Healthwatch Croydon and her passions.

Why do you want to work as a Healthwatch Croydon volunteer?

I worked in a hospital and related fields in Taiwan for many years, which gave me a deep understanding of the pressures faced by medical staff and the perspectives of patients. While living in the U.K., I received a lot of help from others, and I am grateful for that support. I want to give back to society by contributing my expertise in medicine to help improve the medical system.

What are your passions?

I am aware that many patients face long waits to see GPs and often feel dissatisfied with their care. I believe I can help bridge the gap between patients and medical staff to create a more efficient and effective healthcare system.

And why do you enjoy volunteering with Healthwatch Croydon?

The staff at Healthwatch Croydon are friendly and enthusiastic, and their positive attitude and working environment have deeply impressed me. As a local resident of Croydon, I am eager to help improve the local health system.
